Routine Maintenance Requests
To submit a routine maintenance request, visit the Maintenance Request Portal.
Once you have submitted a request you will receive an automated response confirming receipt of your request. When the work is complete you will also receive an email confirming that the work has been completed.
The Popp Martin Student Union is open daily (see Building Hours on our homepage). Maintenance requests are processed Monday to Friday 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, and staff will typically make contact about your work order within two business days. When our staff has visited your room to make the repair, they will typically leave a notice. If you have not been contacted about requested work within two business days, please call at 704-687-7691 for follow-up.
Requesting service authorizes University officials and/or contractors to enter areas within your work space including offices. Refusing them admittance will result in loss of your priority in the repair schedule and may cause delay in your repair. Student Union staff lock all doors when leaving after a repair is completed. Be sure to carry your keys/cards to avoid being locked out.
After Hours Emergency Maintenance Requests
If you have an immediate concern that you think requires a response after business hours (such as a water leak), please contact the Building Manager at 704-574-1409 or the Information Desk at 704-687-7100. Staff members are onsite during building hours to address immediate concerns. University officials and/or contractors will enter any building area to respond to emergency situations. If you notice an emergency maintenance outside of building hours, please contact Public and Public Safety at 704-687-8300 or 704-687-2200.
Building Environmental Services or Housekeeping Requests
If you have a request such as large trash or recycling removal, carpet stain, notice a slip hazard or etc., submit a request through the Maintenance Request Portal.

The Popp Martin Student Union has a contracted weekly service visit to control pests. Building occupants can assist in this effort by discarding trash or recycling in appropriate bins and putting food away in sealed containers promptly. If you find that you have a problem with pests, submit a maintenance request through the Maintenance Request Portal.
The Popp Martin Student Union staff manages a preventative maintenance program to provide ongoing customer service. During the academic year, Student Union staff will enter areas to make sure that everything is functioning properly (drawers, cabinets, fans, etc.). Staff will only enter rooms from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday for non-emergency repairs and 48 hours notice will be provided. Student Union staff lock all doors when leaving after a repair is completed. Be sure to carry your keys/cards to avoid being locked out.
